Hi @biofa77,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error code 0x800704EC typically indicates a problem with the Windows Troubleshooter service. To resolve this issue and enable the Troubleshooter to run properly, you can try the following steps.
Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Restart your computer and check if the Troubleshooter works afterward.
Check Troubleshooter service status: Ensure that the Troubleshooter service is running. Here's how:
a. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
b. Type "services.msc" and press Enter. The Services window will open.
c. Scroll down and locate the "Windows Troubleshooting Service" in the list.
d. Right-click on it and select "Properties."
e. In the Properties window, make sure the "Startup type" is set to "Automatic."
f. If the service status shows "Stopped," click on the "Start" button to start the service.
g. Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save the changes.
Run the troubleshooter manually: If the error still persists, you can try running the specific printer troubleshooter manually. Follow these steps:
a. Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
b. Click on "Update & Security" and then select "Troubleshoot" from the left sidebar.
c. Scroll down and locate the "Printer" option. Click on it to expand the section.
d. Click on "Run the troubleshooter" and follow the on-screen instructions.
Use a different user account: Create a new user account with administrative privileges and try running the Troubleshooter from that account. Sometimes, user-specific issues can interfere with the troubleshooting process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
