Hi @Waltr404,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When your HP printer prints envelopes with blurred text but prints other documents perfectly, it usually points to media type and feed alignment issues rather than a hardware fault.

Steps to Fix Blurry Printing on Envelopes

1. Check Paper Type Settings

  • On your computer, go to Print Settings.
  • Under Media Type, select Envelope instead of Plain Paper.
  • This adjusts ink application and feed speed for thicker media.

2. Load Envelopes Correctly

  • Place envelopes in the tray with the print side facing up and the flap on the left (or as per printer guide).
  • Ensure they are flat and not curled.
  • Do not overload; feed a few envelopes at a time.

3. Adjust Print Quality

  • In the print dialog, choose Best or High Quality mode.
  • Disable Fast Draft or Economy Mode.

4. Clean the Paper Path

  • Dust or ink buildup can cause smearing.
  • Use the printer’s Clean Paper Path option (found under Tools or Maintenance in the printer menu).

5. Check Ink Drying Time

  • In Advanced Settings, increase drying time for envelopes.
  • This prevents smudging on non-porous surfaces.

6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit Official HP® Support and enter your printer model.
  • Install the latest firmware to ensure proper media handling.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
