@LavieMitu, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Ink Tank Wireless 416 printer is not printing red, here are some common troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check Ink Levels:
- Make sure the magenta ink (used to create red) is not low or empty.
- You can check this via the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
Print a Diagnostic Page:
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
- This will help identify if magenta is missing or printing incorrectly.
Clean the Printhead:
- Use the printer’s built-in utility:
- Go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- You may need to run this 2–3 times if the issue persists.
Check for Clogs:
- If the magenta ink is full but not printing, the printhead might be clogged.
- You can try a manual cleaning using a lint-free cloth and distilled water (only if you're comfortable doing this).
Update Printer Firmware:
- Visit the HP Support page and check for firmware updates.
Use Genuine HP Ink:
- Non-HP ink can sometimes cause color issues. Make sure you're using genuine HP ink bottles.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Sometimes reinstalling or updating the printer driver can resolve color printing issues.
