Solved!

printer prints every second line

HP Recommended

My printer was working perfectly well. Suddenly it doesn't print the bottom half of every other line. I do have the web service light flashing but the instructions are to print out a diagnostic by pressing the button - it won't let me print anything. I am unsure if these two issues are connected or not

The issue you describe is typically caused by a defective cartridge, or by a missing connection between the cartridge and the printer electronics.  I would suggest cleaning the cartridge contacts as well as the printer contacts as described in the document here.

Thanks very much for your response Bob (I worked out I should't reply to the scam post but was a bit taken by surprise by it because this is my first post here)

I have cleaned something from the app and I thought that was the cartridge. Maybe I haven't cleaned the printer contacts and so I'll take a look at the link you provided for me. Many thanks. I'll post here as to whether it worked or not

I'm not entirely sure what I did but the instructions said take the cartridge out and put it in again after turning printer on and off and this seems to have worked. Thank you!
