Hi @lou1616 ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Turn on the Product:

  • Ensure your printer is turned on and the power cord is firmly connected to both the printer and the power outlet.

Load Paper:

  • Ensure paper is loaded in the input tray. If there's no paper or if it's loaded incorrectly, this might cause issues.

Select the Correct Printer:

  • Ensure the correct printer is selected in your software application. Setting the printer as default can help resolve this.

Check Printer Driver Status:

  • Ensure the printer driver status is set to "Ready" and not "Offline" or "Stop Printing."

Clear Cancelled Print Jobs from the Queue:

  • Open your computer's printer folder and check if any cancelled print jobs remain in the queue. Remove them if necessary.
  • Disconnect the USB cable or restart the computer and reconnect the USB cable if the job does not delete.
  • Restart both the computer and the printer.

Clear Paper Jams:

  • Check and clear any paper jams in the printer.

Ensure the Print Carriage Can Move Freely:

  • Make sure the print cartridge carriage can move freely from one side to the other of the printer interior.

Check the Connection Between Printer and Computer:

  • Verify that the USB cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer.

Reset the Product:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait 60 seconds, plug the power cord back in, and turn the printer on again.

I hope this helps.
