After changing the cartridge on my laser printer, the printer won't work. There's no attempt and no error readings.
It's in the queue but nothing is happening. I've unplugged the printer but that didn't work. I have an authentic HP
cartridge in the printer and it seemed to have clicked in its place.

NP1590E35 (HP LaserJet MFP M140w) My control panel shows two printers with basically the same numbers but I don't have two printers. I tried printing from the other listed printer and it worked. I don't know why the issue arose just from changing the cartridge.
FYI, before I found the solution and printed from the second listed printer, I was unable to print the test page but didn't know about the trick to close the cartridge door five times. I will keep that in mind should I run into any more snags. I did restart the computer and did clear the print queue.
Thanks for your help and quick response.

Printer model? Are you able to print any reports from the control panel? On some models you can print a test page by opening and closing the cartridge door 5 times quickly and then waiting for a page to eject. if you can print a test page then the issue is likely on your computer not the printer. Have you tried restarting your computer? You may also need to clear any jobs in the print queue as they can become corrupted if sent when the printer is not online.
