Hi @Davey_Ellsbury,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 6600 is consistently displaying a printhead missing error and you're also noticing signs of black ink coming out of the printer, it could indicate a few different issues:

Printhead Connection: The error message could be triggered if the printhead is not properly connected or seated in the printer. Make sure to check that it's securely in place.

Printhead Alignment: Sometimes, a misaligned printhead can cause printing issues. Many printers have a feature to realign the printhead, which you can usually access through the printer's settings menu. Try running a printhead alignment to see if it resolves the issue.

Printhead Cleaning: Ink leakage and printhead errors can sometimes be caused by clogged printheads. Your printer should have a printhead cleaning function accessible through its settings menu. Running a few printhead cleaning cycles might help clear any clogs.

Faulty Printhead: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible that the printhead itself is faulty or damaged. In this case, you might need to replace the printhead.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
