Hi @Kgotso1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer producing low quality colors!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Ink Levels and Maintenance:

  • Make sure the ink levels are visible and properly filled in the ink tanks.
  • Check that the ink is flowing correctly from the tanks to the printheads.

Print Quality Diagnostic Report:

  • Print a "Print Quality Diagnostic" report to identify any specific issues with the printheads.
  • Access the printer’s control panel, navigate to the "Settings" or "Tools" menu, and select "Print Quality Diagnostic" (or similar).

Clean Printheads:

  • Often, print quality issues are due to clogged printheads. You can run a printhead cleaning cycle directly from the printer software or control panel.
  • If necessary, manually clean the printhead using a lint-free cloth and distilled water.

Printhead Alignment:

  • Perform a printhead alignment to ensure that the printheads are properly aligned for high-quality output.
  • This can usually be done from the settings or maintenance menu on the printer.

Check Paper Quality and Settings:

  • Ensure you are using the correct type and quality of paper for your print jobs.
  • Verify the printer settings match the type of paper you are using (e.g., plain paper vs. photo paper).

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date. Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

Perform a Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve minor glitches.

Check for Software Issues:

  • Verify that your printer's drivers and software on the connected device (computer or mobile) are updated.
  • Reinstall the printer drivers if necessary.

I hope this helps.
