Hi @Dy_Thomas03,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is printing blurry and patchy even after installing new black cartridges, try these troubleshooting steps.
Check Print Quality Settings:
- Go to your printer’s properties or preferences in the print dialog box.
- Ensure the print quality is set to "Best" or "High" rather than "Normal" or "Draft."
Perform a Print Head Alignment:
- Access the printer's maintenance menu via the control panel or HP software on your computer.
- Look for an option to align the print heads and follow the on-screen instructions.
Run a Print Head Cleaning:
- In the printer's maintenance menu, find the option to clean the print heads.
- This process will clean any clogs that might be causing blurry prints. You might need to run it a couple of times.
Check for Paper Quality:
- Ensure you are using the correct type and quality of paper for your print job. Poor-quality paper can affect print quality.
Inspect the Cartridges:
- Double-check that the new cartridges are installed correctly and that any protective tape or packaging has been removed.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Sometimes outdated or corrupt drivers can cause print quality issues. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer.
Clean the Print Head:
- If you can access the print head, gently clean it with a soft, lint-free cloth and a small amount of distilled water.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for any available updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
