I just installed a 902 XL cartridge and my printer says "The indicated cartridge is an older generation cartridge that does not work in your printer. It can still be used in some older printer models." The printer won't print anything till I remove the cartridge and put another one in!
The ""older generation" cartridge is marked to expire 10/2020 but I have installed out-of-date cartridges before and never had this issue. I have had this printer MUCH BEFORE 10/2020 so why doesn't this cartridge work? It looks just like other 902XL cartridges. Really annoys me to be out $45 on a brand new cartridge!!!! These are all official HP cartridges - not knock offs.

What is your printer ?
The HP902XL ink cartridge is compatible with the following printers:

I understand you are not able to use the new 902 XL ink cartridge due to this error. Apologies for the inconvenience. To assist you better,
- Make sure the ink cartridge is genuine HP
- Validate this by clicking here - HP Anti-Counterfeit and Fraud (ACF) Program
If this is a genuine HP ink cartridge, I would need some information related to the ink cartridges and the printer which cannot be shared on a public post for security reasons.
