HI @Lokahi1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 is displaying a "Supply System Problem" error after installing a new cartridge, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the printer and make sure the new cartridge is installed correctly. Remove it and reinstall it, ensuring it clicks into place.

Inspect for Protective Tape:

  • Check if there’s any protective tape or plastic still attached to the cartridge that needs to be removed before installation.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth to remove any debris or ink residue.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP support website to see if there are any firmware updates available for your printer that may address this issue.

Run a Printer Diagnostic:

  • Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to run a diagnostic check. This may identify and resolve issues related to the supply system.

Try a Different Cartridge:

  • If possible, test another new cartridge to see if the problem persists. Sometimes, new cartridges can be defective.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
