"older generation cartridge installed" but its not. Am using genuine HP cartridges

error message says "older generation cartridge installed" but its not, its from the same batch that I just finished using. cartridges are genuine HP cartridges and the printer has verified that.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

"Batch" doesn't matter as much as the date on the cartridge.

What is the date on the individual cartridge?

Why?

If the cartridge is not expired, we can certainly request a Review.

oh i see - 'generation' is actually a date! thank you for explaining about the change in cartridges. Is there anything we can do with full 'out of date' cartridges?

What can be done?

I doubt there is anything reasonable that would make your situation better.

Were it mine to do this time, I'd send the expired cartridges back to HP.

Free service and HP takes care of proper disposal.

Yeah, but...

I've not heard any reports of HP taking pity on owners of old cartridges.

No, I don't have any personal opinion about that.

I've had to recycle expired cartridges.

Silly printers use ink - terrible design overall, in my opinion.

Doesn't keep me from having and using printers.  😶
