I was locked out of my previous conversation and cannot access my pm's anymore. Also in the answers it was not clear to me in which app I should perform the recommended steps, as neither the HP or nor my macOS preferences show the menu entries you outlined.

My point is: I cannot read private messages anymore. The icon doesn't show up, I cannot access whatever you sent me.
This is frustrating beyond words. I am about to toss a perfectly fine device that I bought, simply because I decided to move to another country and HP decided to make this a problem by blocking cartridges from another country. I will have to trash a perfectly fine device because of the way HP sets up their "customer support".

To access your private messages, simply click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile name.
