Hi @Kaladharan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your new HP printer is showing a printhead problem, and you're unable to print or scan on Windows 10 (64-bit). Let's try a few steps to get the issue fixed.

1. Reset the Printer

This clears temporary hardware faults:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
  • Turn the printer back on.

2. Check the Printhead Installation

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Wait for the carriage to stop moving.
  • Remove all cartridges.
  • If your printer has a printhead latch, lift it and gently remove the printhead.
  • Reinsert the printhead and cartridges firmly.
  • Close the latch and door.

⚠️ If your printer does not have a removable printhead, skip this step and proceed to cleaning or service.

3. Clean the Printhead Contacts

  • Lightly dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water.
  • Gently wipe the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the carriage.
  • Let it dry for 5–10 minutes before reinserting.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
