smaller 62 cartridges don’t fit 5660 printer

I have an hp envy 5660 printer. I just bought replacement #62 cartridges and they are half the width of the ones I’ve used for years. I can’t figure out how to install them..  I actually bought them twice thinking I ordered incorrectly the first time so I have $80 in cartridges I can’t use

1. Check the Cartridge Packaging:

• Verify Compatibility:
  • Double-check the packaging to ensure that the cartridges are indeed labeled as "HP 62" or "HP 62XL." They should be specifically labeled for use with the HP Envy 5660 series.
• Compare the Cartridge Size:
  • Compare the size of the new cartridges with the old ones. Even if they’re labeled correctly, they might not be the right ones if they’re significantly different in size.

2. Ensure Correct Installation:

• Open the Printer’s Cartridge Access Door:
  • Make sure the printer is turned on and open the cartridge access door. The carriage should move to the center.
• Match the Cartridges to the Correct Slots:
  • The HP 62 cartridges should fit into the carriage with a firm push. The black cartridge goes into the right slot, and the tri-color cartridge goes into the left slot.
