HP Smart Tank 210 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Smart Tank 210 printer had always worked correctly, until one day some dirt got inside the printer, that's where my tragedy began, without knowing what dirt was inside I continued printing but the prints came out badly, the sheet broke, so I realized and removed the foreign object that had gotten into the printer, I thought that with that it would work well, but after this it no longer printed correctly. I always use the 8.5 "x 11" sheet size and it has always printed correctly. Now it only prints half of the sheet. I leave you an example below of what I want to print and how it comes out, I am desperate I have tried everything and before you ask should I use that size because they are sheets for a folder so it should be in that size of sheet.

This is what I want to print.

This is what I get.  😭😭😭

The paper is gridded and already has those lines. Don't pay attention to that. As I told you before, I've always used that type of paper and it's always printed correctly. Please help me.   🙏🙏🙏

@AnitaVal3, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
We understand that you are facing printing alignment issues after a paper jam or foreign object intrusion, and I’ll guide you step by step to get your HP Smart Tank 210 back to printing full pages correctly.

Reset the Printer (Power Cycle)

Let’s begin with a basic reset:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from power and wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Sometimes internal settings get stuck after jams; a hard reset helps.

Check Paper Size Settings (on PC and Printer)

Even though the physical paper is correct, the software settings might be off.

On Windows:

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on HP Smart Tank 210, choose Printing Preferences.
  • Under Paper/Quality > Paper Size, select Letter (8.5 x 11 in).
  • Apply and click OK.

In your App (Word, Browser, etc.):

  • Before printing, go to File > Print > Printer Properties and confirm paper size is also set to Letter (8.5 x 11 in).

Clean Print Area Internals (After the Jam)

Even if the object is removed, residue or misalignment may persist:

Clean the paper path:

  • Use a flashlight to inspect the paper path and rollers.
  • Use lint-free cloth + distilled water to gently clean rollers.

Align the Printhead (Critical Post-Jam Step)

Misaligned printheads cause partial or mispositioned printing.

Do this from HP Smart App or Printer Panel:

Open HP Smart App → Go to your printer → Printer SettingsToolsAlign Printhead.

Check Page Scaling Settings (to Avoid Cropping)

If “Fit to Page” or scaling is off, it could crop the print.

Before Printing:

  • Go to Print Dialog > More Settings.
  • Ensure Scaling = 100% or Fit to Printable Area.
  • Avoid “Actual Size” if it crops parts of the page.

Reinstall HP Smart App and Drivers

If the issue persists, reinstalling ensures clean settings.

Uninstall:

Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program, remove HP Smart and related drivers.

Reinstall:

Download the latest from HP: HP Smart

Final Test:

  • Print a Test Page:
  • In HP Smart → Printer Settings > Tools > Print Quality Report.
  • See if it prints the entire page correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
