Hi @Jhermon,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Supply System Problem" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 can be frustrating, especially when you’ve already replaced the cartridges. This error typically relates to issues with the ink system or cartridges. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve this problem:
Troubleshooting Steps for "Supply System Problem"
1. Check Cartridge Installation
- Ensure Proper Installation:
- Open the printer and carefully remove the cartridges.
- Check for any protective tape or packaging that might still be on the new cartridges.
- Reinstall the cartridges firmly, ensuring they are securely seated in their slots.
2. Clean Cartridge Contacts
- Clean Contacts:
- Power off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the cartridges and gently clean the copper-colored contacts on both the cartridges and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water or isopropyl alcohol.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.
3. Reset the Printer
- Power Cycle:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error message persists.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Firmware Update:
- Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date.
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your OfficeJet Pro 8710.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
5. Check for Software Updates:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers installed on your computer.
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
6. Run Printer Diagnostics
- Use HP’s built-in diagnostic tools.
- Go to the printer’s control panel and navigate to Setup > Tools > Print Quality Report or similar diagnostics options.
7. Perform a Printer Reset
- Factory Reset:
- If the error persists, consider performing a factory reset.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
- Note that a factory reset will erase all customized settings, so you’ll need to reconfigure your printer afterward.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
