I understand you are getting the error message "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer" typically means that the printer is not recognizing the cartridges as compatible. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue with your HP DeskJet 4675 printer and the 680 print cartridges:

 

Verify Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the cartridges you are using are indeed HP 680 cartridges, which are compatible with the HP DeskJet 4675.

Reinstall the Cartridges:

  • Turn on the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  • Wait for the carriage to stop moving.
  • Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any packaging material or protective tape. Remove any if found.
  • Reinstall the cartridges, making sure they are firmly seated.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Remove the cartridges and gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry for a few minutes before reinstalling the cartridges.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in.
  • Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • If you are using third-party or refilled cartridges, try using genuine HP cartridges. Sometimes, non-genuine cartridges can cause recognition issues.
