Hi @Jeah18

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing a glitch when printing, and the issue might be related to the way the image (like "image.jpg") is being processed or sent to the printer.

Here are some potential reasons and troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue:

1. Image Quality or Format Issues

  • Sometimes, the file itself could be causing issues. This could happen if:
    • The image file is too large or has a resolution that’s too high for the printer to handle.
    • The JPEG format might be corrupted or not fully supported by certain software.
  • Solution:
    • Try resizing the image or converting it to a different format (e.g., PNG or PDF).
    • Open the image in a photo editor or preview application and try saving it as a new file (this can help clear any file corruption).

2. Printer Driver or Software Glitch

  • If you're using an outdated or corrupted printer driver or printing software, that can cause glitches while printing.
  • Solution:
    • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. Visit the HP website and download the latest version for your printer model.
    • If you're using software like HP Smart, make sure it's up-to-date and reinstall it if necessary.

3. Connection Issues

  • Wired or wireless connection problems can also cause glitches or incomplete printing.
  • Solution:
    • If you’re using a USB connection, check that the USB cable is properly connected and not loose or damaged.
    • If you're using Wi-Fi, check the printer’s Wi-Fi connection and ensure it’s stable. You might want to restart your router and printer to reset the connection.

4. Print Queue and Spooler Issues

  • Sometimes, a stuck print job in the print queue can interfere with new print jobs.
  • Solution:
    • Open the Print Queue on your computer and cancel all print jobs.
    • Restart the printer and computer, then try printing again.

5. Try Printing from a Different Program

  • The program you're printing from might be causing the issue. Some programs (like Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) handle images differently.
  • Solution:
    • Try opening the image in a different program (e.g., Microsoft Paint, Preview on Mac, or another image viewer) and try printing from there.
    • If possible, save the image as a PDF file and print that instead, as PDF files generally retain better print compatibility.

6. Printer Firmware Update

  • An outdated printer firmware could be causing issues with printing certain files.
  • Solution:
    • Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. You can do this using the HP Smart app or through the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
