Hi @basscj,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding horizontal lines on an HP ENVY Photo 7830!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check the Paper
Use good-quality, recommended HP photo paper or plain paper.
Make sure paper is dry, flat, and properly loaded.
Run a Nozzle Check (Print Quality Report)
On the printer’s touchscreen:
➜ Setup → Tools → Print Quality Report
Look for missing lines or gaps on the test page.
Align the Printhead
If the lines show gaps, run Align Printhead:
➜ Setup → Tools → Align Printer
Run a Deep Clean
If basic cleaning didn’t help, run Clean Printhead again:
➜ Setup → Tools → Clean Printhead
Do it up to 2–3 times if needed.
Print a test page each time.
Check Ink Levels
Low or nearly empty cartridges can cause streaks.
➜ Setup → Estimated Ink Levels
Replace any cartridges that are very low.
Use Genuine HP Ink
Non-HP or refilled cartridges can cause poor print quality.
I hope this helps.
