@lazy_genius, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where your HP Smart Tank 580 All-in-One Printer is printing images and documents off-center and unbalanced—shifting too far to the right and downward. Let's work together to get this resolved.
Check Paper Size and Layout Settings
Make sure the paper size and layout settings in your print dialog match the actual paper loaded in the tray.
- On Windows 11:
- Open the document or image you want to print.
- Click File > Print.
- Select your HP Smart Tank 580 printer.
- Click Printer Properties or Preferences.
- Under the Paper/Quality or Layout tab, ensure:
- Paper size matches the loaded paper (e.g., A4, Letter).
- Orientation is correct (Portrait or Landscape).
- Scaling is set to 100% or Fit to Page.
Align the Printheads
Misaligned printheads can cause off-center or skewed prints.
- Use the HP Smart App or printer control panel to align:
Via HP Smart App (Windows):
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Click your printer > Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools.
- Select Align Printheads and follow the prompts.
Check for Driver or Software Issues
Ensure you're using the latest printer driver and firmware.
- Download the latest software from the Official HP® Support
Clean the Paper Path and Rollers
Dust or debris in the paper path can cause skewed feeding.
- Power off the printer and gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
Try Printing from Another App
Sometimes the issue is with the app you're printing from. Try printing the same file from another application (e.g., Word, Adobe Reader, or Photos) to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
