I've just bought this ink cartridge: 

HP CH563EE 301XL High Yield Original Ink Cartridge, Black, Single Pack

without realising it wasn't compatible with my hp envy 4527, I misread the list of printers it worked with. I've just installed it and my printer said ut's not cpmatible, will it work at all, I'm not sure I can return it now I've opened and installed it

Hi,

The HP 4520 printer uses HP 302 ink cartridges only, it cannot use any other ink cartridge:

HP 301 cartridge is intended for previous HP printer models only:

https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=CH563EE&opt=UUS&sel=SUP

 

I suggest checking with the store for any option to return it, it cannot be used with an HP Envy 4527 printer in any way.
