My HP inkjet pro 9015 made a weird grinding noise when shutting down, then jammed the cartridge carrier all the way to the right out of sight. Cannot find any obstruction or apparent reason nor any way to access the carrier more completely. For some reason I am blocked from viewing the only solution offered by a HP employee for this problem.

Hi @Finley68Belan ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with  your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 made a grinding noise and the cartridge carrier is jammed to the right, here are some steps you can try to resolve it:

Turn Off and Unplug the Printer: Ensure that the printer is turned off and unplugged from the power source.

Check for Visible Obstructions: Open the cartridge access door. Although the carriage might be out of sight, use a flashlight to look carefully for any debris, paper, or foreign objects that could be causing the blockage. Even a small piece of paper can sometimes block the carriage.

Manually Move the Carriage (If Possible): With the printer unplugged, try gently moving the carriage back toward the center. If it doesn’t budge, don’t force it, as this could damage the printer.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Plug the printer back in.
  • Hold down the Power button for 10 seconds.
  • Release the Power button and wait a few seconds before pressing it again to turn the printer on.

Plug Printer into a Different Outlet: Sometimes power-related issues can cause the printer to malfunction. Try plugging the printer into a different outlet to ensure stable power flow.
