I am getting printer failure 0x6100004a and have looked for jammed paper - there is none.  I have tried to manually move the print cartridges, but they are stuck all the way to the right and I can't budge them.  How do I resolve?

Please confirm that printer has HP inks installed.  Unplug printer for 30 seconds.  Connect power cord and power up printer.  Does display look like normal boot up?  Does ink carriage assembly attempt to move?  If ink carriage assembly moves during boot up, unplug power cord and check right side for any restrictions.  Remove and inspect all inks.  At this point, you can power up printer without inks.  When it ask for inks, install one at a time. You can also find an ink cleaning procedure or a printer reset online.  Just Google the error code.  It may help.  If your printer is not under warranty. contact HP for repair options.

They are HP Inks, the display gives the printer failure message on boot up.  The cartridge assembly moves slightly but not out of the far right edge.  I can't even get  my fingers to the right side to try and move it to remove the inks.  Any suggestions on getting them to move when I can't see any object blocking them?

If your printer is under warranty, call HP.  If not, HP may offer a repair or replacement option.  I have read many posts on this same issue.  it sounds like the printer failed with the cleaning station under the ink carriage assembly.  I do not know of a way to release cleaning station.  Even if you could release cleaning station, you cannot resolve the problem that caused cleaning station to lock up.  Your best option will be replacing printer.
