We have an HP 4201 being used in an office environment for high volume printing. Because of the inability to get it to print as a network printer (a separate issue) I have it connected directly to my workstation with a USB cord. I get documents from a state agency that have to be printed two-sided. The first page contains a color graphic of the state seal and from Day 1 it has jammed on the first page - well, to be clear it jams after the first page is printed and it is being re-fed to print the other side with page 2. The jam is always in the back.
My workaround, since other office printers are B&W and the seal is in color, has been to print the first sheet one sided against policy, then print the rest of the document two-sided. But now it is jamming on other pages in these same documents. The documents are being printed from Word, but I have tried printing to a pdf, then printing the pdf through the 4201. This printer is "brand new" meaning I have printed maybe 2000 sheets through it so far. It was first installed in about May, 2024.
The agency I work for probably shops for inexpensive paper since we use such a large volume of it, but it is plain bond copy paper. Please don't automatically ask me to clean the feed rollers, clear bits of paper, reset the printer (I have to reset it to clear the dam print job, or it spits out one page then jams an infinite number of times), or verify that I have the correct paper selected - I have tried all of these things. The printer was barely out of the box when the problem started and has been persistent since the very first one of these documents I tried to print. Now it is severely limiting my printing, and I cannot do my job. Maybe there are printer diagnostics I can send in, or this particular model is known for jamming issues that I can fix if I know the solution or whatever. Just don't ask me to log into the printer to get a diagnostic report, because that is *another* thing that doesn't work - logging in to the printer using the PIN found on the inside cover.
Please advise.

The login issue is a known glitch, performing a factory reset will resolve that issue 99% of the time. As you state the printer is only a few months old, you should be creating a warranty case at support.hp.com and avail yourself of warranty service that is included with the printer.

Thanks. The factory reset allowed me to update the firmware which, for the test print, solved the two-sided jamming issue. Now if I could just get certain workstations to print to the 4201 I would be all set.
