Is anyone else having problems with their HP 9025 printer.  From day one I have had issues, and I am getting really disheartened with HP in general.  I have been a fan for many years, have 3 HP desktops, 1 laptop and 3 HP printers.  This last printer 9025 started with not staying 'online'.  Sorta kinda got it fixed with help from support, but just the other day, it powered down on its own yet again.  It is connected to an always on, new UPS system, and I have a whole home generator that kicks in if power goes out, so I know it isn't caused by a power outage.  Now I cannot print on HP photo paper, or HP Brochure type paper.  Paper is fed in, but printer prints on roller, then spits out a blank photo with residual ink line on the back from the roller.   Printer is about 2 months out of warranty of course.  Had issues with my previous printer as well.  Has anyone else seen a drop in quality?  Honestly, this is probably the very last piece of HP equipment I will every buy.

Hi @Moasi,

 I'd like to help!

I understand you are facing print quality issues.

To assist better-

1) Are you able to print on a regular sheet of paper?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon .

  3. Swipe up on the display, touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer -  Print Quality Issues

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

1)  I can print on regular paper (20 or 24 pound) with no problems.  When I try to print on photo paper, it will not feed properly to print, only to eject.  However when I try to print on cardstock, the feed is inconsistent.  Sometimes it starts printing an inch down, sometimes 2 inches down, sometimes starts printing before completely feeding paper so I lose the first part of document...it varies.  It is a feed problem.

2)  I have tried printing from Photoshop CS5, MS Photos, and Snipping Tool.  Same results, improper feed of HP Photo Paper, both glossy and matt.

3)  I have auto update turned on, so printer is up to date with firmware.

4)  Printer quality diagnostics...  It isn't a print quality issue...it prints great when printing on regular paper.  It is feed issue with cardstock, photo paper and transparencies, actually any heavier paper even when I specify cardstock or photo paper in settings.

What is the size and weight of the photo paper?

What is the size, weight of the cardstock?

Meanwhile, refer to -Print photos with an HP printer

Keep me posted

Size of Neenah cardstock is 8.5 x 11 and is 65 pound paper.

Size of HP photo paper is both 8.5 x 11 and 4 x 6, both are 80 pound paper.

The printer supports media weight 60 to 105 g/m² (plain); 220 to 280 g/m² (photo); 75 to 90 g/m² (envelope); 163 to 200 g/m² (card).

Refer to the printer specifications to the supported paper size and type.

Hope this helps!

Let me know!

So, essentially you are saying that the printer won't feed properly using the HP Photo Paper (80 lbs) I have always used because it is suddenly 5 lbs too heavy, and it won't feed the cardstock (65 lbs) because it isn't heavy enough (90 to 110 lbs)?  Note: I've tried to print a .jpg on cardstock using the photo setting, still doesn't feed correctly.

Won't feed HP 80 lb photo paper properly - too heavy

Won't feed 65 lb cardstock properly - too light

The paper weight range for this device is 16 lbs to 110 lbs.  It should be able to feed 65 lbs and 80 lbs, but it doesn't, even when I have tried all combinations of settings and paper types...cardstock - photo - plain - brochure trying to make it work.

I've done the research, there are quite a few other people having the same types of problems with this printer (going offline and feed problems)...maybe, just maybe it is the printer?

Yep, looks like this is my last HP device of any kind...sigh.

I understand that you have tried different types of media on the printer and are still unable to print.

I think this issue needs some additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team.

Please reach out to HP Support in your region for further assistance.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for trying to help.  I have been in the IT business for 40 years, and I do know how hard remote support can be.  The printer is out of warranty by 2 months, so I'm not going to pay to contact support.  The printer was $300+, I'll take the loss and look for a different printer.
