HP Color LaserJet Managed MFP E877z

I am employed at a company that has the optional HCI tray unit for the MFP E877z. The lifting unit no longer raises the tray due to damaged gears. The product is out of warranty. I have searched online and even reached out to HP Support, but it appears the only means to service this unit is through a 3rd party service provider. I am wondering if there is a means to obtain the unit or even the parts as I am more than capable of servicing the tray unit. I have even looked at becoming a certified HP printer service tech, but it seems my company would have to have an arrangement with HP.

You have purchased a managed unit and parts are only available through a registered HP partner.  These units are only supposed to be sold with a service contract, if you were sold it as a straight purchase then the dealer you bought it from either grey marketed it or screwed you over. How have you been getting toner and other supplies? This HCI kit is the last item I would ever purchase with this printer. The side 5000 sheet tray is 1000x more reliable and holds more paper. There are two possible issues.

A broken lift shift drive kit

or a broken sub cassette assembly try lifting the tray by turning the gears on the back. No lift, replace.
