Hi @Turnley,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To remove the paper tray from an HP ENVY 6430e All-In-One Printer, you can follow these steps.

  • Turn Off the Printer: Before you start, make sure the printer is turned off. This ensures your safety and prevents any accidents.
  • Open the Paper Tray Cover: Locate the paper tray cover, which is usually at the front or bottom of the printer, depending on the model. This cover might have a finger grip or a small indentation to help you open it. Gently pull it down or towards you to reveal the paper tray.
  • Remove the Paper: Take out any paper that might be loaded in the paper tray. If there's paper, gently slide it out to prevent any damage.
  • Locate the Latch or Release Button: In most HP printers, there will be a latch or release button that holds the paper tray in place. It's often located on the bottom or rear of the paper tray.
  • Release the Tray: Press the latch or release button, and while holding it down, gently slide the paper tray out of the printer. You might need to apply a bit of pressure, but be careful not to force it or cause any damage.
  • Inspect and Clean: After you've removed the paper tray, it's a good idea to inspect it for any debris or paper dust that may have accumulated. You can clean it with a dry, lint-free cloth if necessary.
  • Reassemble: To put the paper tray back, simply reverse the process. Slide it back into its slot until it clicks into place. Make sure it's securely in position.
  • Reload Paper: If you removed paper from the tray, don't forget to reload it properly. Ensure that the paper is aligned correctly and within the recommended paper capacity.
  • Close the Paper Tray Cover: After the tray is securely back in place and loaded with paper, close the paper tray cover.
  • Turn On the Printer: Power on the printer and check to ensure it recognizes the paper tray.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
