Laserjet 4000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a venerable Laserjet 4000 that has completely stopped working. There is confirmed power to the machine so now I'm trying to access the Engine Control Module to check the internal fuses by getting to the engine module.

I'm currently trying to separate the Engine Module from the Paper Feed Module as per page 6.42 of the manual at https://manualmachine.com/hp/4050/4646645-service-manual/

I'm stuck because I don't how how to remove a connector and don't want to break anything by forcing it.

The connector is at the back right of the printer and is normally behind the formatter cage assembly and formatter pan.

It's white, with 14 purple connectors going into slots on the top and has no spare slots.

I can't tell if there are any hidden catches anywhere that need releasing or if it should just pull it off pins below.

If anyone can advise, that would be much appreciated.

As best I can tell, the part number is either RG5-3822-000CN  or RG5-3710-000CN.

Many thanks.

Dave
