HP Envy 6000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer has blue (internet) light on. I click to print from WORD and it pulls the paper through a little, then the red X light comes on and then it stops. I have unplugged, uninstalled, reinstalled, couple different HP offers of troubleshooting and still... now the paper pulls through a bit and then it gets crumbled when I hit the X to make it go on through. However, it does not print anything. Ink is fine (InstaInk program)

Printer is only 1 year old has been working fine... warranty expired 2 weeks ago

Can anyone help me? I just do general "at home" printing and 99% of the time it is just from WORD.

@Coffeebreaker, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

I believe you are using regular paper.

Make sure the papers are loaded correctly - How to Store and Handle Paper to Avoid Paper Jams

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - E4 (Paper jam) error

Check if the print carriage is moving freely.

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Or, you may print a test page from the printer.

Touch the Information button .

A Printer Information Page prints.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Here are a couple things that helped when I had that problem.

1. First unplug power to the printer, wait a few seconds and then plug the printer back in to AC power. Sometimes the software gets hung up.

2. If that doesn't work, see my post "Fake Paper Jam Solved" posted 12-07-2021 in "Printer Paper Jams..." My printer is a different model but they all have some sort of sensor that signals a paper jam - either a real paper jam or fooled by something else, like ink covering up a photo sensor.
