Hp Envy 6234 won't catch my photo paper, 5x7 or 6x4.

Hello, I have a new HP 6234 printer & the photo paper feed, 5x7 and 6x4  isn't accepting or recognising the paper. I'm using the HP preferred paper and I keep getting the same message, load paper, etc, etc. 

I brought this printer specifically because of the option to print photos....it hasn't been possible yet. 

Please help!

The usual place to look, of course, is the application you are using to submit the job to the printer.

I cannot help with that - I don't have Mac OS.

Check / Adjust / Retain the Paper at the Printer Display Panel

Open Printer Tray,

If you have not yet done so, add desired paper type

Wait a couple of seconds…

Close Tray

IF applicable for your printer:

Look for a message on the Printer Control / Display Panel,

Click Modify (wording varies), set the paper size and type, Click OK

NOTE:  If the size of the Paper Size is not in the Drop-down menu, Select Custom (likely the last selection in the list)

And / Or

Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

If applicable, check the Advanced section (at the bottom of the Tray and Paper Management menu)

Click Apply to save changes

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Network > Advanced Settings > Certificates

Click Configure > Select Create a New Self-Signed Certificate > Next > Finish

What else?

The printer software likely makes use of "Presets" (shortcuts).

Make sure you have selected the appropriate Media / source / setup for the current job.
