There was an error message but I don't remember what it was other than "There's an error"

Are you referring to an HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One Printer?

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - 'E4' Error Displays (Paper Jam)

 

Check if the papers are loaded correctly, refer to - Loading Paper and Envelopes
