Hello All,

First, thank you for your time in advance. We just got this Printer MFP 4301dw in the office and it seems to do Double Sided Printing with being manually fed. Is there a way to do double sided printing without manually feeding after the 1st page prints on one side? Seems like very old technology and will definitely be returning the printer if it does not have the feature as automatic. Thank you in advance.

Likely you have either the wrong driver or the driver did not detect the fact that the printer has automatic duplexing. You should be using the HP Smart UPD driver with this printer if you have Windows. Drivers like the Microsoft IPP driver do not usually support duplexing.

If you have the correct driver installed and need to confirm that the driver recognized the duplex unit, and again assuming you have a Windows operating system do this:

On your PC go to control panel and then right click on the icon for devices and printers and select open from the drop down menu. Then right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Click on the device settings tab and scroll down to find the option "duplex unit" and make sure it shows as installed. Change it to installed if it is not set to that.
