Paper catching arm

I pushed the arm to catch paper after it's been printed in and can't figure out how to extend it again.  Is there a latch to release it?

That's the paper tray extender you are referring to. It is designed to automatically eject to hold the output papers. However, you will have to manually close it.

You may use a pair of tweezers to pull it out. If that does not help, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your printer. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

I had the same problem.  Recently, the arm stopped working.  I just discovered a possible solution.  Notice the right end of the arm , then notice the piece of plastic to the right of the arm.  That piece is 3 inches long and 3/16 inch thick. I used my small pocket knife to do this and it may work for you:  Pick a point about 1/2 inch to the right of the arm along the top of the 3 inch piece of plastic.  Stick your knife into the printer between the top edge of the 3 inch piece and the big plastic piece almost touching it.  Stick the knife straight in about 3/4 of an inch.  Angle the knife slowly so the tip goes down and presses against the release tab holding the extension arm in place.  It may take several tries but you can eventually cause the arm to be released and it will flip out into its extended position.  I did it several times and it's an inexact science.  But the arm works correctly after doing this.
