My HP printer keeps saying paper size mismatch. I've tried all the things I've seen online:

1- unplug and reconnect after 60 seconds

2. hard reset for wifi

3. changed all the settings via HP app to letter size and same done on WORD and Adobe.

When i reset the wifi settings, the printer automatically printed the instructions perfectly.

But if i attempt to print from WORD or Adobe, or even through the HP app itself, it begins to feed the paper, then immediately stops; displaying error E 1! and the app states paper size mismatch.

Job type:  Print - Word, Adobe, HP Smart

------------------------------------------

Based on what we know -

Job type = Print

Error = E1

Sample Troubleshooting document for one type of printer model series:

HP DeskJet, ENVY 6000, 6400 - Blinking lights and error codes

-------------------------------------------

This type of result can persist if the printer is not aware of the paper size / type - Tray and Paper.

Original EWS

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model and EWS version Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

Example - EWS (original / InkJet printer format) - Tray and Paper - Top Loading paper

In the case of a missing or incorrect Tray and Paper setting on the printer,

It's perhaps not an error as much as the result of an unresolved match between printer and job setup.

and / or

If the paper size, type, or weight is unsupported --

OR

If the paper size, type, or weight is  supported but not selected in the printer (Tray and Paper),

AND

If the job setup does not understand the source of the problem, the E1 error might be the result.

Given a proper paper Tray and Paper setting,

This error might persist if there are conflicts in the job configuration between settings.

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Simple PDF Print - Main Menu / More Settings
