@SR484b, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Paper Jam Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To resolve a paper jam issue, it is important to locate and carefully remove any jammed paper from your printer. Here are some general steps you can follow to try and clear the jam, depending on the specific model of the HP DesignJet printer:

Turn off the printer: Start by switching off the printer using the front panel to prevent any damage or accidental movement while you clear the jam.

Turning off the printer

Open accessible covers or windows: Depending on your printer model, you may need to open specific parts such as the window, top cover, roll cover, or scanner window. This allows access to the internal components and helps identify where the paper is stuck.

Opening the window

Move the printhead carriage: If applicable, move the printhead carriage to a position that allows you access to the jammed paper without strain.

Storing printhead carriage

Carefully remove the paper: Try to lift the paper upward and from the top of the printer rather than sideways, which may cause damage to the machine.

Removing jammed paper

Inspect for remaining paper: Look through all compartments, areas, and drawers to ensure no small pieces are left behind. It might be necessary to rewind rolls or use scissors to cut paper if it is stuck firmly.

Close all covers: Once all jammed paper is removed, close any covers or drawers that were opened during the process.

Closing window

Turn on the printer: Restore power to the printer and test for successful resolution by attempting a test print.

Turning on printer

Reload media: If needed, reload the paper roll or insert a new sheet according to your printer’s specifications.

Rewinding the roll

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
