Hi @rtcary1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you're dealing with two frustrating issues on your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e printer. Let's tackle them step by step:

Issue 1: "Out of Paper" Message

Check Paper Tray Configuration:

  • Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the main tray, not the photo tray.
  • Make sure the paper is aligned properly and pushed all the way to the back of the tray.

Clean Rollers:

  • Dust or debris on the rollers can cause feeding issues. Use a lint-free cloth to clean the rollers gently.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in.

Update Firmware:

  • Check for firmware updates using the HP Smart app or the HP website. Updates can fix bugs related to paper handling.

Issue 2: "Photo Tray Blocked" Message

Inspect the Photo Tray:

  • Remove the photo tray and check for any obstructions or misaligned parts.
  • Ensure the tray is seated properly when reinserted.

Run Diagnostics:

  • Use the HP Smart app or HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix tray-related issues.

POWER RESET:

  • Let's do a power reset on your printer by following the steps below.

Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
Note: Please connect the printer directly to a wall outlet.
If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
