Hi @Dharaneesh,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer isn't pulling paper into the printer, there are several common issues that could be causing this problem. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check for Paper Jams
Turn Off the Printer: Power off the printer and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
Inspect for Jams: Open all the accessible paper trays and the rear access door (if applicable). Look for any paper jams or debris that might be obstructing the paper path.
Remove Jammed Paper: Gently remove any paper or debris that you find. Be cautious not to tear the paper.
2. Check Paper Tray and Paper
Verify Paper Type: Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper as specified by the printer’s documentation. Ensure that the paper is not too thick or too thin.
Load Paper Properly:
- Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray. Align the paper neatly in the tray and adjust the paper guides to fit snugly against the edges of the paper.
- Ensure the paper stack is not too high and does not exceed the tray’s maximum capacity.
Check for Paper Curling: If the paper is curled or wrinkled, flatten it out before placing it in the tray.
3. Inspect and Clean the Rollers
Open Paper Tray: Access the paper feed rollers by opening the paper tray or the rear access door.
Clean Rollers:
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers. Gently wipe the rollers to remove any dust or debris.
- Allow the rollers to dry completely before closing the printer.
Check Roller Condition: Ensure that the rollers are not worn out or damaged. If they are, they may need to be replaced.
4. Perform a Printer Reset
Turn Off the Printer: Power off the printer and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
Wait: Leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds.
Plug In and Power On: Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve issues related to paper feeding.
5. Update Printer Firmware
Download HP Smart: If you don’t have it already, download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or HP’s website.
Check for Firmware Updates: Open the HP Smart app and check for any available firmware updates for your printer.
Install Updates: Follow the prompts to install any available updates.
6. Check Printer Settings
- Printer Settings: Make sure there are no incorrect settings in the printer menu that might be affecting the paper feed. Check for settings related to paper size and type.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
