HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer

I am trying to print on paper the is 147 g/sq meter.  My printer will not pick up the paper for printing.  The roller keeps spinning and spinning.  It will print on regular paper but not thick paper.

I have cleaned the rollers as suggested and have changed the printer settings to thick paper.  Nothing is working.

Hi @victry18,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-In-One Printer is not picking up thick paper for printing, you can try several troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Thick paper can sometimes be more challenging for printers to handle, so it's essential to make sure the printer is set up correctly and that you're using the right type of paper. Here are some steps to follow:

Use the Correct Paper Type:

  • Ensure that you are using paper that is within the recommended specifications for your printer. The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 can typically handle paper up to 110 lb (300 gsm) for manual two-sided printing and up to 75 lb (220 gsm) for single-sided printing.

Adjust Paper Settings:

  • Access your printer's settings through the control panel or the printer software on your computer. Make sure the paper type and paper size settings match the type of paper you are using.

Load Paper Properly:

  • Make sure you load the thick paper into the input tray correctly. Ensure that the paper is not bent, curled, or damaged in any way. Fan the paper to separate the sheets before loading it into the tray.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers:

  • Over time, paper dust and debris can accumulate on the feed rollers, causing them to slip. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth and some clean water. Consult your printer's manual for specific instructions on accessing and cleaning the rollers.

Adjust Paper Thickness Settings:

  • Some printers have settings to adjust the paper thickness. Check your printer's user manual to see if there are any specific settings for handling thick paper.

Update Printer Firmware and Drivers:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website to download the latest firmware and drivers for your printer model.

Try Different Paper:

  • If you continue to experience issues, try a different brand or type of thick paper. Some papers may be more compatible with your printer than others.

Remember that thick paper can put more strain on the printer's paper feeding mechanisms, so it's important to ensure that the paper you are using falls within the printer's recommended specifications.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
