HI @BeaconUU,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is randomly printing garbage pages, try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check for Print Jobs

  1. Clear Print Queue: Go to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac) and check if there are any stuck or repeated print jobs. Cancel any that look suspicious.

Step 2: Check for Connected Devices

  1. Disconnect Unused Devices: If the printer is shared over the network, check if any unauthorized devices are sending print jobs. Disconnect or remove any unnecessary devices from the network.

Step 3: Update Printer Firmware

  1. Update Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

Step 4: Reset Network Settings

  1. Reset Network Settings: Reset the printer’s network settings and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi. This can help resolve any connectivity issues causing erroneous print jobs.

Step 5: Check for Driver Issues

  1. Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers on your computer to ensure there are no corrupted files.

Step 6: Disable Automatic Updates (if applicable)

  1. Disable Automatic Printing: If the printer is set to receive updates or print automatically from cloud services, consider disabling this feature temporarily.

Step 7: Check for Malware

  1. Scan for Malware: Run a security scan on your computers and devices connected to the same network to ensure there’s no malware causing the issue.

Step 8: Factory Reset the Printer

  1. Perform a Factory Reset: If the issue persists, you may want to perform a factory reset on the printer. This will clear all settings and can help resolve persistent issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
