Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there! I am trying to print on some 4x6 card stock through Word. I have all of the settings right in word and on my HP 8720 printer. I load the tray with the cards and hit print. The cards do not feed through where they're supposed to like normal 8.5x11 paper. They print, but don't feed to the correct location. I have to open the printer door/cover where the cartridges are, and lift up a flap inside, and the printed cards are sitting under that flap. I have no idea what's going on. Please help!

@ToryW, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Let us try these steps:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
