Okay, here we go.

I recently bought this printer and installed it without any issues. It worked wirelessy on my Phone and my laptop.

It has been of the power for some time.

I turned the printer on today and it lost the wifi settings.

I tright to reconnect, but on my Phone it says that there was 'a problem' and that I should use laptop.

You guessed it, on my laptop I get the same error. It cannot connect using wifi.

I also tried it via USB but than it says that I need to use the setup cartridges to use for the setup.

you guessed right again, I still use the setup cartridges.

When I put them out and in again, the printer goed loco and everything begins to blink.

Thing I tried and checked:

- Reset the wifi setting on the printer using the cancel and wifi button (several times)

- power off the printer for a few minutes.

- removed the setup cartridges and put them in again.

- checked the wifi settings (it works on everything)

I am totally out of ideas, what the heck can I do to get this printer to work?

I've been on it for more than 2 hours now, and Im at the point of throwing it out of the window😅

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Okay,

so I have got the printer to get a WiFi connection, so that's solved. The only problem I am facing now is that it keeps asking me to use the setup cartridges. The thing is that the original Setup cartridges are already in it and worked the first time I have setup the printer. I have taken them out and tried other, original HP cartridges but it keeps giving me the same error message.

I also tried the solution on https://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/ish_1721824-1419961-16#:~:text=Check%20the%20ink%20cartridges,....

but this doesn't resolve the issue.

Factory reset also didn't work.

How can I fix the Setup cartridge error?

We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.

Please do check your inbox on the communities page for the private message.
