It appeared all my drivers installed etc for the 2800e printer/scanner, but I got this message.  I know it only supports 2.4Ghz networks and mine might be different.  Does this mean it won't work at all?

Hi @Quinnly,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP 2800e printer/scanner only supports 2.4GHz networks and your Wi-Fi network is configured to use a different frequency (like 5GHz), it won't be able to connect to your network. Here’s what you can do:

1. Check Your Network Settings

  • Dual-Band Router: If you have a dual-band router, it usually broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz signals. Check if your router settings allow you to enable both bands.
  • Network Names (SSIDs): Sometimes, the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks have different names (SSIDs). Ensure you are trying to connect to the 2.4GHz network.

2. Connect to the 2.4GHz Network

  • If your router broadcasts both frequencies, make sure to connect your printer to the 2.4GHz network specifically. You may need to go into the printer’s network settings to select the correct Wi-Fi network.

3. Change Router Settings

  • If your router only broadcasts on 5GHz, you can log into your router’s admin settings and enable the 2.4GHz band. Refer to your router's manual for instructions on how to do this.

4. Separate SSIDs

  • If you can, create separate SSIDs for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. This makes it easier to select the correct network when setting up devices.

5. Test Connectivity

  • Once you have confirmed that your printer is connected to the 2.4GHz network, test printing or scanning to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

If your network only supports 5GHz and you can't enable 2.4GHz, you may need to consider using a different router or a range extender that supports both frequencies.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
