Hi @Tovmeister,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry you're stuck at the "Preparing the printer" stage—it must be really frustrating when you're trying to set everything up after changing your Wi-Fi provider. Let's work on resolving this issue together.

  • Did you reset the printer's Wi-Fi settings before attempting to connect it to the new network?
  • Is your printer and phone/computer connected to the same Wi-Fi network?
  • Have you tried setting up the printer using another device or through a different method, like the printer’s control panel?

Let's try these steps.

Reset the Printer’s Wi-Fi Settings:

  • On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until it starts blinking and the power light flashes. This resets the printer's network settings.
  • Wait for the Wi-Fi light to blink blue, indicating the printer is ready for setup.

Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  • Choose Set up a new printer and follow the prompts to connect the printer to the new network. Ensure your phone or computer is on the same network.

Restart Devices:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart your phone or computer and reopen the HP Smart app.

Perform a Hard Reset on the Printer:

  • Disconnect the power cord while the printer is on.
  • Wait 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord, and power on the printer.
  • Retry the setup process using the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.

Use Wi-Fi Direct as a Temporary Solution:

  • Enable Wi-Fi Direct by pressing the Wi-Fi Direct button on the printer (check your manual if needed).
  • Connect your phone or computer to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct network (e.g., HP-Print-6010).
  • Use this method to print until the setup on the main Wi-Fi network is completed.

If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app to eliminate any app-related glitches.

Keep me posted for further assistance
