Just opened my printer and set it up last night. I went through all the steps to correctly set up my printer. I downloaded the correct software, connected it to wifi, printed test pages etc.
When I try to use the Web Services feature, the printer tries to connect then this message pops up:
"This printer was unable to connect to the server. Check the internet connection and try again, or enter a proxy address."
I tried downloading and running the HP doctor software and nothing was detected.
I looked all through the forums and tried those tips and nothing has worked.
HP Support tells me I need to pay $20 to have them "help" me with this issue since there is no warranty.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Flower_Bud is at your service.
As I understand, your printer gives an error message "Cannot connect to the server",
I'd like to thank you for the detailed description of your concern, as you have ensured I don't have to ask any more questions, that said,
Let's try these steps mentioned in the article: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05337026
Step 1: Make sure your printer supports Web Services
Step 2: Check the network and printer connection status
Step 3: Restart the computer, printer, and router
Step 4: Turn on Web Services from the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Step 5: Check the Internet proxy server settings
Step 6: Update the printer firmware
Step 7: Update the router firmware
Keep me posted,
For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,
And your device is up and running again,
Have a great day 🙂

If you couldn't tell from my first post, I tried calling support and they told me it would cost me $20 for 1 phone call to someone that "might" be able to help.
I also reached out on Social Media. I messaged HP Support on Twitter, they took my information and had someone reach out to me.
When they called, I wasn't able to answer and they left a message. I called back within an hour and the person who contacted wasn't available so I left them a message.
I haven't heard back from them and it's been 2 days.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.
They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number.
Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact.
Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
