Welcome to the HP Community --

What have you tried so far to fix the problem?

Without additional information, some ideas...

Less likely when performed by itself > Restart everything, including your network.

Restarting can clear some issues.

The list of "usual suspects" include uninstalling / reinstalling the Full Feature Software.

NOTES

Re-installation is particularly helpful if "updated" means "upgraded", that is, an "in place" change of the Operating System version.

What?

Printer software rarely survives a change in the OS version.

Windows Updates can damage installed printer software.

In addition to uninstalling and installing the full driver printer software,

Consider

Adobe Reader DC – Install Whether You Use It or Not

If you have not done so,

Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC /Optional Foxit Reader)

HINT: Watch out for and UNCHECK unwanted extra software

Next,

Make sure that the printer's Printer Properties > Advanced - Driver = HP Driver and not Microsoft IPP / class driver

NOTE

The full driver printer software and the setting in Printer Properties is particularly important for printing A3.

Finally,

Make sure the printer is aware of the paper size and paper type loaded in the tray - Tray and Paper

=========================================

Printer - Printer Software

HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts.  The full driver adds at least two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant and HP Scan. If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver. No Sign-in required.

Basics

Uninstall the full driver printer software from Programs and Features

Restart computer and Sign in

Install a new copy of the Full Feature Software

Restart computer and Sign in

>>> Full Feature Software - Web Pack Installation Package - Information - Download / Save / Install <<<

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

The installation of the full driver adds at least two shortcuts to the Desktop:

Printer Assistant

HP Scan

>>> Open the Printer Assistant > tab Scan Manage Scan to Computer Enable

Printer - EWS - Tray and Paper

Try using EWS to view / adjust the default paper size and type settings in the printer.

EWS > HP Document / How-to

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section How do I manually assign an IP address to my printer?  Items 1-2

EWS – Browser – Tray and Paper Management

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

Tray and Paper – Paper Size / Paper Type / Paper Weight

Reminder

HP Smart Mobile requires that paper size / type is adjusted before the content is opened to be printed.

Paper Size, Type, and Weight loaded in the printer tray must be supported for use in that tray.

EWS provides access and control to check / adjust Tray and Paper Settings.

Note

Depending on the printer model, the Printer Control Panel might provide access to Paper Size / Type settings immediately after the paper is (re)loaded into the appropriate printer intake tray.

Custom size?

If EWS does not allow setting the paper size or size “Custom”, look for the setting to do so in the Printer Control Panel after (re)loading the paper to be used
