HP ENVY 7830 is blocked during initialization. after power failure. Before the printer was connected in WIFI mode to the livebox but the HP printer stays working in boot without any connection to me Wifi network. From the PC i got HP not connected.. I have started many times to unplug and reboot the HP printer and I got exactly the same problem HP printer is always blocked duting init. I dont know how to  finish the HP boot or reset factory setings. The printer stays blocked on this screen and the tactile screen is unavailble to click.

Hi @280960

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it must feel to see your HP ENVY 7830 frozen on the splash screen, especially after you’ve already tried unplugging and restarting multiple times.

Thank you for sharing the steps you’ve attempted — that helps narrow down the situation. Let’s walk through a few careful recovery steps together to bring the printer back to life:

Step 1: Power Reset

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer while it is still powered on.
  2. Remove the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait at least 60 seconds to allow the printer’s internal power to discharge.
  4. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors or extension cords).
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and try powering it on again.

Step 2: Check for Hardware Lock

  • If the power button still does not respond, try pressing and holding it for 10–15 seconds.
  • If there is no reaction, disconnect the power cord again, wait, and reconnect while holding the power button.

Step 3: Remove External Connections

  • Disconnect any USB cables or memory cards from the printer.
  • Keep only the power cord connected during startup to rule out interference.

Step 4: Firmware Update (if printer boots)

If the printer manages to initialize after reset, connect it to your PC and update the firmware to prevent recurrence. You can download the latest firmware from HP’s support page:
Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.

These steps should help release the printer from its frozen state and allow it to complete initialization. You’ve already shown persistence by trying multiple reboots, and with these deeper resets, the printer should respond more positively.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

AI: can a HP printer be firmware updated without a computer, printer control panel or wifi?
No, an HP printer's firmware
cannot be updated without using a computer, the printer's control panel, or a network (like Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
The firmware update process always requires one of these interfaces to initiate the update and transfer the firmware file.

no good!

i.e. just plugging in a USB memory stick with the latest firmware and switching on/plugging in to mains will not self activate and load the firmware to the printer, without the use of either of: wifi, computer/PC, or built in printer control panel screen access.
