Just bought a HP 7958e inkjet printer (it's like the 7955e).  I select the "HP envy 7900 series" and then click "Properties".

In the Properties window, there are 2 tabs:  "Layout" and "Paper/Quality".  I cannot find a "Print preview" option in either tab.

There is an "Advanced" button in the Properties window.  But clicking that button, there is no option for "Print Preview".

How can I do a print preview before actually printing as to not waste photo paper and ink in case I missed a setting?

Any way to get a print preview before printing?

Hi @Skyzoomer,
Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing issues with finding the print preview option on your HP ENVY Inspire 7958e All-in-One Printer.

Please follow the steps listed below:

1. Print photos using the HP Smart app on your Windows or Mac computer.

2. Open the HP Smart app, and then select your printer on the home screen.

3. If you do not have the HP Smart app, download it from HP Smart - Microsoft Store or HP Smart - Mac App Store.

4. Click the Print photos tile.

5. Browse to and click the photo you want to print.

6. In the Preview window, change any print job settings, and then click More settings.

7. Select the paper size, type, and tray where you loaded photo paper.

8. Click OK, and then click Print to print the photo.

Rainbow23,

It appears that your response is how to print a photo.  I want to have a PREVIEW of the sheet of paper (what ever size I selected like 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 inch) with how the image will look on  that sheet of paper "on my computer's screen" without actually printing the image.

For instance, suppose I wanted a borderless 4x6 print, but the preview on my computer's screen shows a 4x6 sheet with borders around the image.  Then I would realize that I neglected to select borderless as an option.  I go back into the printer's settings and select borderless.  Now the preview on my computer's screen shows a 4x6 inch sheet with the image on it as borderless.  THEN I print the photo without having wasted a 4x6 inch sheet of photo paper and ink.

Thanks for your help,

Skyzoomer
