Product: HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

8 1/2  x 11  paper settings.

There is hole in the left side of the tray which when pressed releases the slide to totally close to the 8 1/2 x 11 position,  This let paper be held firmly in place.  You can finds where it unlatches on the bottom of the tray.  Unfortunately  it is not locked in this position.   You will have to reset it every time you open the paper tray.

 

I hope this helps.   HP should redesign the tray to have all position be able to lock in.
