Product: HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter - N811a/N811d

i have a HP 8100 that was running low on black ink after printing quite a few pages.  Replaced with older cartridge of the same vintage as the one being used.  The "K" keeps flashing and I get an error that says print driver error in my printer settings.  Replaced with a brand new black cartridge.  Same issue.  Tried the old original near empty cartridge same issue.
